We all want success for the New Year don't we? We want to climb Mount Everest, build Rome and even walk the Great Wall of China so try these productivity boosters for 2018.
Try your best to use the Christmas holiday as a time to rest. In between cooking, caring for children, cleaning, and eating etc it may be difficult: but try and make a conscious effort to recoup your energy. Often at the end of the year we feel tired, so it's important to listen to our bodies and rest. Once you do, you'll feel ready for the New Year.
Plan your time wisely. If you have New Year's Resolutions you want to achieve, diarise them all! If you fail to plan, you can easily get swept up into the New Year - you blink and it's March! Don't act like that hasn't happened to you before...so plan ahead of time, even on a month-by-month basis, so you can be productive and tick off that 'to do' list.
3. SLEEP ROUTINE
Try and adjust your sleep routine for the New Year. It will need to be a conscious effort but once you get a better night's sleep you will naturally be more productive. Your mind will be alert and you will have more energy.
4. TRACK & REVIEW YOUR PROGRESS
I know some people may read this and think 'for goodness sake' but tracking and reviewing your progress really works. If you're not able to look at written information that instantly shows your progress, you have nothing to refer to and cannot accurately assess your next steps. It's imperative you constantly look at where you are in comparison to where you want to be.
5. SET TARGETS WITH TIMESCALES
You must have a goal in mind with a clear timescale and end date. You cannot be productive if you follow an aimless goal. When olympic athletes get ready for a race, they know their aim is to get to the finish line within the fastest time. At that point, they already know their 'personal best' time. This is because they would have tracked their progress over the years in an effort to improve performance and execute their plan. Never make a goal without a timescale!
NEVER MAKE A GOAL WITHOUT A TIMESCALE!
Mastering your goal is no easy fete. But it can be done. Be conscious of your actions, regularly review your progress and use your time wisely.
